Create Websites - The First StepCreate Websites - The First Step

Here it is, the first step - my Rapid Niche Website. Why build websites with Rapid Niche Website Software? Well during my search to find information on how to start an Internet Business I came across the Rapid Niche Website software. I was looking for something that allowed me to build a business fast. I wasn’t looking to make millions in the first week. I just wanted to build a quality Internet Business. I’ve also got a short attention span and I would never complete one of those traditional web sites with heaps of pages. Rapid Niche Website software seemed the perfect way to create websites for me.

Website and Blog together

The Rapid Niche Website Software appeared to fit the bill. But when I read the background to creating this software I realised Jeff Walters had built this software around a WordPress Blog. I did not really know what a Blog was. But after reading that the search engines love them in Jeff Walter’s documentation I decided I should build my first Niche Web site using his software. Go here to get my report on using Rapid Niche Website software to develop this site.

But….

 Internet Overchoice Syndrome

Wouldn’t you know it. I got sidetracked by the Internet Overchoice Syndrome!

I kept looking for the “Holy Grail” even after purchasing Jeff’s Rapid Niche Website software.  I was like a kid in a candy store. Everytime I searched I found something that looked even better. I could not help myself. Why can’t the search engines tell me “Google Off”. Tell me I’ve done enough searching - it is time to start using the stuff I have?

Internet - Gimme everythin’ ya got!

I downloaded everything I could find that was free about how to build web sites, I subscribed to any newletter that popped up on my screen and I viewed every free video or listened to every free audio that came to me via email. I also clicked on every link in those emails. I even bought several products - some I still have to try out. I was an Internet junkie!

Everyone’s an expert - It seems no one is just starting out

Have you noticed everyone is an expert. They’re all earning heaps of money and know all the answers. Just click here, buy this, download that, and you could be on your way to a fortune on line! Yeah, right! So how come 95% of people don’t make money on line? You know the line, “Some little old lady somehwere in Texas made $11236.36 (always an exact amount) in one month with no website, no computer, no electricity, no home and no idea she has been immortalised on the Internet”. So what is REAL, what WORKS. There are some really good and smart Interent marketers out there. - no mistake. It’s a matter of finding them and emulating them until we become confident to do our own thing. But not the rubbish about some old lady somewhere. By the way I am not saying an old lady in Texas cannot build a website, in case you’re wondering.

The next Web page is always Greener!

Some people can stick with one thing at a time. Me? No way - I always want to see what else is out there behind the next Web page!

And then…

Making Sense out of it all

I began making some sense out of all this. I learned many things some of which I still do not fully understand. These things I now know thanks to by browsing and my finding some Internet Marketers who offer value rather than hype:

  1. If it works for you, before you ever start any web site become an Internet Junkie. Get anything that is free and buy some of those that aren’t. Learn what is out there and how to find stuff. Know what is happening and see new products be promoted by the top Internet Marketers. Get to learn the “rhythm” of the Internet, learn when everyone is jumping on something new and watch what happens. This stuff comes in waves. You won’t be able to catch these waves right now but you can learn to do it.

  2. Read everything you can and make notes as you go.

  3. Learn who are some of the real movers and shakers on the Web and subscribe to their newletters and look at their Blogs and Web sites. Collect everything you can on these guys.

  4. Think in terms of the bigger picture - not just one Web site but a whole bunch of them with a main theme that can connect them altogether.

  5. Develop an Internet Business Strategy as defined by Rich Schefren. Go to his web site at Strategicprofits.com and enter your email address and name and watch, listen and read everything you can.  Also get “The Manifesto” and read it too. It is all free and very valuable information. (No affiliate commissions here - just good stuff you should have)

  6. Once you have all this information put it into some sort of order. Then begin going through it. Select the stuff that seems to make sense to you and reject anything else. Use FileNote to do this. This software allows you to create virtual folders. When I buy software I download it to a folder in My Documents. But I also like to file it with a file note that briefly describes what it is and what I can use it for. I can then add it to a virtual directory of similar stuff I want to group together, without moving the file from its actual folder. Take a look at the trial version, its free.

  7. Also concentrate on the “mechanics” of building your Internet Business. Start here building your first Web site using Rapid Niche Websites software. Use the information you have sorted and begin the mechanics of building your Internet business.

  8. Once you have a strategy and a plan stick to them until they are complete or you won’t know if they will ever work. Try not to add to your initial plan unless there is a glaring problem with it.

  9. Do as much as you can yourself first before outsourcing. This way you get to understand your business and can then talk intelligently to anyone who you sub-contract to in the future. Outsourcing should be your ultimate goal. Because your main tasks should be concentrating on your Internet Business Stratgey, to grow your internet business. But right now you cannot do that. You need to start somewhere and it starts with the mechanics of the business.

David Bates is building an Internet Business. As his knowledge grows he finds himself going in many directions. Hopefully eventually in the right direction. Along the way he will publish his experiences and his notes on his first site as a record for others to use if they wish. He purchases everything he writes about on his site and tries it out. Go visit his site at http://www.startherewebsites.com where you will find a growing amount of original information on the software he has tried and you will be able to see examples of the software he has used or is using.
