Seven things you need to set up your PBI Site  

Is it easy to create a Push Button Income Site?

At $27.00 a month for membership to Push Button Publishing it is well worth trying out, if you are interested in creating an Internet Business for Residual Income. The site has masses of information about what you should do to set up your own Web Business. Bryan Winters, the owner of the site emphasizes though it is not a “Get Rich Quick System”. The site you will create is designed around affiliate programs selling other peoples’ products. This helps you get up and running quickly because you do not need to have your own credit card facility. If you do decide to follow the instructions on setting up the PBI site you will learn what is needed to set up a fully functioning Website for affiliate sales and for Opt-In email to generate the List. The List is the real aim of all of this. With your own Email List you can start to build your business by selling products and services to your List Members. However before all that can happen you need to build your site. Here are seven things that might make it easier for you to do this.

But how easy is it to set up a site if you have never done it before?I will relate my experience and will provide some information based on my experience that might make it easier. Firstly, I would have benefited greatly from having a check list of all the steps needed to the create the Website. I have provided one on this site for those who wish to use it. The best way to use the check list is to go through it with the instructions from Bryan and fill it out as you go. Write in the actual web site name and any other data you need so you can paper check it before entering it into the Web page files. Then there is less chance of making an error when customizing the Web pages files. I made some errors and had to go back and recheck them. It was very frustrating and time consuming. RoboForms for keeping track of all the User Names and Passwords

Another tool that would have helped me before I started is Roboform. There is a free version but the Pro version only costs $29.95 and is well worth it. There are many features to this program but the one feature you need is for keeping all your login names and password safe and easy to access. By the time you have created your Pushbutton Publishing membership, your Web Registration and your Web site hosting account, you already have three user names and passwords to remember. So do yourself a favour and install RobForm before you start. I didn’t!

 FileZilla - File Transfer Program

Bryan uses the file upload utility on the TeknonDomain Servers. I prefer to use a proper File Transfer Program to upload my Web Files once I have customized them. Download FileZilla for free.

The Actual Time to Create the Site

After paying my $27.00 for my first month I was very enthusiastic to get started on my PBI Web site. I worked right through to signing up with Teknon Domain for my Web site. Then I had to wait for an email from Teknon Domain. It was supposed to come in 24-48 hours. It took over a week to get to me. That can really test your enthusiasm. However I emailed Bryan and he chased it up for me and forwarded the email to me. Then I got the original one from Teknon Domain. I do not know what happened because I checked my Spam folders and there was nothing in there. So be prepared for a delay here. Spend the time re-reading all the documentation and trying to understand what it is all about.

Check the Site after you Create it

It is important to check the site after you create it. Click on all the links to ensure they work. Right click the Affiliate links and make sure your Affiliate number is in the link or you won’t get paid. Also make sure you sign up for your own 5 Email Course and ensure you receive one a day for five days with your name in the email. The content is very good so make sure you read it yourself. You can also send all the messages at once to your email address to check the autoresponder is working.

Hide Your Affiliate Links

It is important to hide your affiliate links because some people right click your links and remove your affiliate number and  go directly to the site to buy the product. This means you do not get paid! Go to Associated Content for free information on how to do this. Or you can go to TinyURL and use their free solution. Their solution allows you to shorten URL’s too.

New Push Button Leads Affiliate Service Provider - 1shoppingcart.com

If you decide to include the optional popup web page and signup for Push Button Leads for $19.95 per month, then you need to know the affiliate service will NOT be pushbuttonleads.com but 1shoppingcart.com. This is mentioned on the PBL site but the PBI site has not been updated. It can be confusing when you have never done this sort of work before.

I have shut down the PBI Site

I have discountinued wiht PBI because I wanted to concentrate on other things. It was the first site I put up and I did not do any marketing of the site. I did learn a lot about the process of installing a site to sell a product on the Internet though. PBI is a great learning experience.
