Step 3: Using SpeedPPC To Setup a Google Ad Groups
SpeedPPC Software
I have purchased SpeedPPC software and am using it in this project to see if I can turbo-charge my affiliate marketing efforts. I am an affiliate for this software which costs $497.00 one time fee. It comprises two products. The SpeedPPC System and the Affiliate Datafeed System. I’m only using the SpeedPPC system in this project.
Integrating PPCRiches and SpeedPPC
I got PPCRiches before SpeedPPC and liked the idea of creating an Article Content site on which to install multiple landing pages that included my keywords. I was not too happy with the Ad Group file I had to save in PPCRiches and then input into Google though. Maybe I misunderstood something but I think SpeedPPC is better here. With SpeedPPC I got the chance to write the Ads on the SpeedPPC screen and then base them around my Keywords using keyword variables for the keyword itself, for an expanded keyword and for a final keyword mix.
Full Features of SpeedPPC not used
I decided to only use the Ad Group capbilities of SpeedPPC here because I already had created the Landing Pages using PPCRiches. But SpeedPPC can also be used to create Landing pages that match the keywords and the text ads. SpeedPPC also has a tracking system which again I did not implement in this first run of the Turbo Charged Affiliate System trial.
Using SpeedPPC - Keyword & Configuration
I found it very easy to use and the videos that come with it made it an easy program to learn. I only used the Seed Keywords in my testing. I named the Campaign and pasted the keywords into the Seed Keywords box. I set my Max CPC for the Broad, Phrase and Exact Matches. I ignored the Expansion options but added my URL with the seed variable. I made sure the keywords in this list exactly matched the keywords in the PPCRiches list for the Landing Pages. This was to ensure if a SpeedPPC generated Ad was clicked on it would take the searcher to the PPCRiches generated relevant landing page.
Using SpeedpPPC - Text Ad Set-up
On this screen I created the Ads using the Seed variable for the Keyword in the places it made sense it use it. I probably went a little over-board here because every line has the keyword in it except the display URL! As I said in the previous article in Step 2, I found the smallest domain name I could find so I could display the keyword in the Actual URL line of the Ad. It worked but I’m not sure it is the best thing to do because I also believe Google likes to see URLs with keywords in them. The result though is my Ads have Bold Text on every line. They tell me I should try for this so I’ve done it. Although there are six Ad places I only did two.
Using SpeedPPC - Google Adwords Output
The final part of using the SpeedPPC software was to generate the KeywordOutput and the Ad Output. By clicking “Update Output” at the bottom of the screen SpeedPPC immediately created the Keywords needed for each Ad Group and it also created each Ad Group for those keywords.
Google Adwords Editor
Once the Output has been created the keywords are pasted into the Adwords editor along with the Ads. I noticed some of the lines of Ad text had errors in them. This was because my Keywords exceeded the limited set by Google. In which case I had to modify the text for that line. I chose to try and keep the keyword on each line so picked the closest keyword that fitted from my keyword list. However I left the actual or destination URL as it was so I could direct the searcher to the correct landing page, even if the Ad was a different (but similar) keyword. I also had to put in my Daily Budget and the Max CPC even though this last item is not used because we entered our Max CPC in SpeedPPC.
Speedy it was!
It was very easy and quick to do, about half an hour. Even as a first attempt for a Newbie I found it straightfrward to do. But I still have to go back sometime and figure out the Landing Page usage, the Expansion feature and the Tracking. I will need to either use the PPCRiches tracking or the SpeedPPC tracking but first I’ll just observe what is happening and try and get a deeper understanding of the whole process I’m trying to put together. It may be that I may use SpeedPPC for the landing Pages as well and just use PPCRiches for the Article Content Site. But if I do that then maybe PPCRiches is redundant. I need to study them both some more to make sure I know all the features of each before I decide.
The Finished Product
So I now have a website www.1m12.com built as an article content site with article pages built around my keywords and with their content base don the keywords. I have landing pages with the keywords placed in them in three locations too. Finally I have the Google Ad Groups build around the keywords I took from PPCRiches and entered into SpeedPPC.
