Seven Steps to Turbo-Charge Your Affiliate Marketing with Google Adwords

Step 2: Using PPCRiches To Setup a Google-Friendly Website

PPCRiches Software

I have purchased PPCRiches software and used it to create a “Google-Friendly” site. I am an affiliate for this software too. You can purchase it through this site by clicking on PPCRiches in the title above. It is $297 USD for the software and then $19.95/Mth if you want to use their Tracking software. It claims to beat the Google Search Engine Slap Rule and improve your Google Quality Score. That should lead to lower CPC and possibly higher positioning on the Sponsored Ad Adwords section on the Google Search pages. It includes the following features:

  • Multiple Articles built in a silo structure and relevant to the Keywords I am using on the site.

  • Multiple Landing Pages each with Keyword Tokens that allow me to insert the searched for Keyword in the landing page.

  • Keyword Tracking software to provide analytics from the Keyword specific Landing Pages.

  • A built-in Content Editor for the Landing pages so they can be edited within PPCRiches software.

  • The ability to create the Keywords to be included in Google Adgroups.

  • Use of PPCDefender to help prevent Adword Spying on your Adword Campaigns.

  • Google SiteMap creation ready for submitting to Google to get good SEO.

Working Out What Keywords to Use on the Landing Pages?

After creating the Affiliate Cash Secrets Website according to the Quick Start Guide from Derrick VanDyke I took a copy of the Landing page and read it and make notes of what I might be able to do to insert Keyword Tokens into it for multiple landing pages. The Keywords to be inserted from the Google Search had to make sense when displayed in the landing page. I did some keyword research and came up with 15 keywords for this project. They are NOT long tail keywords and are quite expensive. But I thought I’d try them anyway and see what happens. I should get good feedback very quickly from Google.

Domain Name and Keywords List

I then started PPCRiches and entered my domain name. I chose to enter “affiliate program” as my Primary Keyword and clccked on the “Check” button. It told me PPCRiches had 4666 articles related to my keyword in its article database. I entered the 15 keywords, selected them all and clicked “Next”. I didn’t realise until later the keywords in this list are used for SEO in the articles. Another set of keywords is used to create the landing pages with the keyword tokens. But I understand they can be the same list.

The Layout of the Website and the Templates

On the next screen I was able to select one of only two website layouts (more are scheduled but I haven’t seen them yet). I selected the first layout and was presented with a list of templates associated with the layout. It is here you need to upload any images and files you intend to have on the website. I forgot and added them later using FileZilla. But I could have easily gone back and run PPCRiches again to update the site. I didn’t know this at the time.

Tracking URLs

The next page needed me to input my tracking URL but because Affiliate Cash Secrets uses a Landing Page to offer two free Viral Reports there is no URL to get from this page. It is on the Thank you page on my website. So I have skipped this for now. I wanted to get the site up and running and see how it looked.

Landing Pages

I clicked the “New Landing Page” to open the content editor screen. Here I pasted in the keywords to be used in the “Keyword Tokens” on the landing pages I created. In this case only 15 keywords were used, but I could use many more than this. I also ticked the Mulitple Landing Pages box. They said to use a title and I entered “Affiliate Cash Machines”. The last thing was to open the landing page I prepared earlier form the Affiliate Cash Secrets website and copy the “body” contents inot the Content box on in PPCRiches. I had to insert the Keyword Tokens in the landing page. They suggest 2 or 3 be used. One in an H1 Title, and the others in the text but with bold and/or underline. I did this. I didn’t bother with adding the tracking URL as I stated earlier.

Upload to the Website

The final part was to enter the FTP information into PPCRiches and click on the “Create Sitemap” and “Upload Entire”. I didn’t enable tracking as i had not set it up. (There is a monthly service fee for using the tracking option). Nor did I enable PPCDefender becasue it would stop me seeing the website properly I was told.

Final Note

I attended an online conference about PPCRiches late this week and found out I had done something wrong.

  • I should have created the Article Silo structure and uploaded it to the website first. Then submitted the Google Sitemap to Google and waited a few days for Google to crawl the site.

  • I understand it will give me a better Quality Score when I get my Google Adwords Campaigns running.

  • They suggest about 30 keywords be used for the Silo structure but you can use as many as you like for the keywords for the landing pages.

Despite these errors I’ll continue with what I am doing. I will probably bring the site down and create the articles again along with the Sitemap as they suggest. Then run PPCRiches a second time to add the landing pages after I see Google has crawled the site.

What does my site look like?

You can go to www.1m12.com to look at the site entitled “Automatic Money Machines”. It  displays a typical web page with articles in folders. But if you do a search and my adwords Ads are displayed for your search words you will get a landing page with your search words in it. The key is for me to get my Adwords Ads high enought for you to see them. Assuming I did and you entered the keywords - affiliate marketing - then you would be taken to the following landing page http://www.1m12.com/affiliate-marketing.php. Why am I using a short Domain Name?

I‘m using a short domain name because I wanted the keywords in the landing page to appear in the Ad. I’m not sure if that is better but it seemed a good idea based on relevancy. Most meanignful short domain names have been purchased and many are available for sale. But I didn’t want to pay for one for this test.
